Antonette Ayton

Design, Creator, Maker

The exploration of intersectionality and grey spaces has captured the attention of Antonette. Traversing between the realm of architectural pursuits and industrial design, various relationships of humans to objects to spaces has been highlighted. This shift in scale and in intimacy has provided fertile ground which she investigates in much of her work. Spanning memory, perception and emotional connection, considerations of experiences with the built environment are central to holistic design. Ranging from a granular to an emotive level, design and the act of making possess the ability to color one's memory and perception. Design within this realm provides challenges in physically conceptualizing abstract notion, therein creating experiences which compel Antonette.

As solace lies in the art of creation, Antonette spends her free time, crafting ceramic goods, dabbling in leatherwork and baking. When she is not actively creating, she is watching indie films, and museum hopping in the city. She is based in New York City and currently works within a metal fabrication company, utilizing modern fabrication techniques to reproduce and restore, ornamental architectural metalwork.
